To join a sports team, students must pay a fee to become members of the Athletic Union (AU). There are two levels of AU membership:

£90 (BUCS Competitive Sports)

This includes:

Membership to the Athletic Union
Insurance
Transport to away matches
Hire of kit and equipment
Access to training facilities
Coaching
Access to play ANY other competitive or non-competitive sports at the University
FREE AU jacket and waterbottle
FREE drinks and reduced entry to our Monday and Wednesday student nights
FREE food for sports teams on a Wednesday

£25 (Recreational Sports)

This includes:

Membership to the Athletic Union
Insurance
Hire of kit and equipment
Access to training facilities
Access to play ANY other non-competitive sports at the University
FREE food for sports teams on a Wednesday

BUCS sports usually play their matches on a Wednesday, whilst sports that play in tournaments often play at the weekend.

If we do not have a sport that you like, and you have a group of 10 or more other students who would also like to play that sport, we could help you start a new sports team. Simply download the form here, fill it in, and then bring it in to us!
