Freshers' Angels 2011

Freshers’ Angels 2011

Hello and thank you for expressing your interest in being a Freshers’ Angel for the year of 2011. Make sure you take the time to read this info sheet as it will answer many of the questions you will have about Freshers Angels.

Freshers’ Angels play a pivotal role for both the Students’ Union and University. They welcome in all the new students enrolling into the University of Bedfordshire.

Freshers’ Angels are expected to help out students throughout Freshers’ Week.

Anyone who has been a Freshers’ Angel before will tell you how much they loved it. Being a Freshers’ Angel is hard work and can be a little bit stressful. However you’ll meet great friends, you get to be the shoulder to cry on, you’ll be involved with all the goings on of Freshers’ week and it is by far one of the best experiences you can do.

Remember this is a hard role and if you are expected to be support and promote the Union during Freshers Week.

If you feel you had a great Freshers’ Angel team, this is your chance to give something back. If you didn’t really know your Freshers’ Angels, this is your chance to make a difference to new students.

There will be a mandatory interview process in the lead up to selecting the Freshers’ Angles of 2011. Do remember spaces are limited so during the interview processes do show us why you would stand out from the rest. The Union Exec will decide in May who they have chosen. Please do not be disheartened if you do not get in. We encourage you to be involved through out the year and there are more opportunities through out the rest of then year.

The Union and Freshers’ Week.

The Union spends a lot of time organising Freshers’ Week every year. It is the most important week in all of our calendars. Our most important aspect is that we are for the Students’. Remember at all times you will be representing the Students’ Union. The union aims to be a place where all students feel welcome and are keen to be involved. We want students feel as if the Union is the place they can go to for a good time, for support and to get involved. We want the Freshers’ Angels to pass this message on.

The week is a hard week, but upon handing in the form you are agreeing to work for the Union during Freshers Week and are agreeing to follow the Freshers’ Angel code of conduct
