BEDFORDSHIRE Poll

How did you hear about this years elections?

Poll Results...

Why Vote?

What are the General Elections?

In many unions across the country, students are gearing up for the biggest event in your SU calendar! Do you have the confidence to step up and represent all the other students at the University?

Why vote?

Simply; if you are a student at the University of Bedfordshire the decisions made by the elected officers from this election will affect you. You have the opportunity to either stand or vote for the things that you want changed or improved at your University; not just the Union.

How to decide?

Have a read through the candidate’s manifestos where you can see exactly what the nominated students wish to achieve, remember the right person can make an impact on your student experience. Read these in The Mezzanine in Luton or the SU office in Bedford or online. You can also watch videos that will appear on UBSUTV (wwwyoutube.com/ubsutv) after February 23rd or stop and ask questions to candidates when they ask for your vote!

Who can vote?

Every registered student at the University of Bedfordshire is eligible to vote. There are more than 20,000 students that are eligible to vote, all of whom can have a decisive say in these elections.

Do candidate’s get any training?

Members of the Executive committee will have:

  • Group training from the National Union of Students’ (NUS) Regional Officer
  • Support and guidance from the Students’ Union CEO and supporting staff, which includes advice on all areas of the Union
  • Full access to the University’s staff development unit during your term of office. This includes courses such as time management and IT training
  • Sabbatical Officers will get trustee training.
